Risk Management in Laboratories

This 60 to 75-minute module introduces risk-based thinking for clinical and analytical laboratories in line with ISO 15189:2022. It covers the difference between hazards and risks, risk identification across the testing pathway, risk scoring, registers, control strategies, monitoring, and audit-ready evidence. Learners will apply these tools to realistic scenarios involving LC-MS/MS downtime and patient identification errors, then complete knowledge and practical assessments. Successful completion contributes 1.0 CPD hour.
